Buford Community Girls Chorus
Concert on Saturday | March 22 at 6:00 pm following the 5:00 pm Mass
Founded in 2005 as an ensemble for talented young ladies in grades 7-12 from the Buford, Georgia area, the Buford Community Girls Chorus, under the direction of Edward McQuade, regularly performs for community and civic events throughout the metro-Atlanta area. On three occasions the choir was a featured ensemble at the Crescent City Choral Festival in New Orleans, Louisiana. The choir has also performed in music festivals held in New York’s Carnegie Hall, Chicago’s Orchestra Hall, and at Walt Disney World. The choir completed its first international tour in 2017 with a concert tour of Italy, culminating in performances at St. Mark’s Basilica in Venice and at St. Peter’s Basilica in Rome. The choir returned to Europe in 2019 for a concert tour of Switzerland and Austria and again in 2023 for a performance tour of Portugal where the girls were the featured choir for the Feast of Corpus Christi Mass at the Chapel of Apparitions at the Shrine of Fatima. In celebration of the choir’s 20th anniversary, the Buford Community Girls Chorus is excited to welcome back an ensemble of alumni representing all twenty years of the choir’s history to join them for their 2025 concert tour of Catalonia, Spain, where the choir will perform concerts at the Basilica of Sagrada Familia in Barcelona, the Cathedral of Girona, and at the Monastery of Monserrat.
