Columbarium Memorial Garden Project

Home / Parish Happenings / Columbarium Memorial Garden Project

The St. Benedict Columbarium and Memorial Garden will be a sacred resting place on holy ground for cremated human remains with the same dignity of a cemetery.  A place for our loved ones to rest until our Lord comes again, a place at home in our beloved community and Church.  Our columbarium will offer a very peaceful place for you to come and pray and ask God to intercede for your loved one.  The opportunity is here for you to purchase one of a limited number of niches in the Columbarium.  Our beautiful sacred resting place will be located adjacent to the Stations of the Cross.

The proposed parish columbarium offers these benefits:

Perpetual Care

The Code of Canon Law requires the Catholic Church to perpetually maintain its places of burial.  Hence, care will always be assured.

Security

Proximity on well-lighted Church grounds assures optimum security.

Convenience

With your final resting place only a few feet away from the Church, your family and friends attending Mass will be able to visit the columbarium which is a brief walk away.

Serenity

Our columbarium design fits perfectly into existing space, offering a serene, peaceful environment for meditation and quiet reflection.

St. Benedict is required to comply with all Archdiocese of Atlanta columbarium requirements before construction can begin.

The outdoor columbarium altar can be used for

· Memorial Service for All Souls Day

· Services for Urn Placement in Niche

· Veterans Day Memorial Services

Cost will include engraved face, perpetual care fund and all other costs associated with the columbarium.

Reservation deposits

St. Benedict Catholic Church is in the process of developing and obtaining local approvals for construction of the Columbarium. Upon the completion of the engineering, construction drawings and permitting, and builder contract, the church will be able to provide the exact cost of the Niche. Until that time, St. Benedict is not able to accept binding agreements to purchase niches in the Columbarium. However, the church will now begin accepting reservation deposits of $500. All deposits for reservations are refundable. Click below for the reservation form.
