The Archdiocese of Atlanta is launching an exciting new vision for the future of Faith Formation programs. In response to the pastoral guidance of Archbishop Hartmayer, the St. Benedict Faith Formation Program will introduce new Family Sessions and Retreats for the 2026–2027 year. These initiatives are designed to:
- Foster family growth through prayer
- Strengthen the domestic church
- Equip families to be witnesses of the Gospel
- Create opportunities for families to encounter the living God
To support this vision, the Faith Formation schedule will be restructured. Each month will include:
- Two weeks of traditional grade-specific catechesis classes
- One week of Family Sessions for parents and siblings to attend together
- One week focused on family witness and at-home faith application
As we begin this transition, we welcome any questions and look forward to partnering with your family in faith.
The sacraments of First Reconciliation and First Holy Communion are usually received at the end of the 2nd grade year, after 2 years of formation classes (1st and 2nd grade). Please contact our office for older students who would like to prepare for these sacraments.
